“Well perhaps this was only a freak accident, father,” Duke proposed as he tried to keep up the pace with his father and the army.
“Nonsense!” King Axel raised his voice and glared at his son with his one brown and one blue eye. “Murder shall never be classified as an accident.”
The army and militia stopped marching as soon as they arrived near the border and bridge connecting the two kingdoms. Axel stepped forward by himself and looked down at Nash’s slain body with remorseful eyes.

“I’ve heard the news, Your Majesty! Congratulations!”
“Thank you, Rontu,” the Prince said with a chuckle. “I am waiting to tell the Kingdom at the dinner.”
“Your secret is safe with me, Sire,” Rontu smiled and dipped his head in respect.
“Duke!” a loud voice boomed from across the palace.
“I do believe your daddy would like to see you,” Rontu smiled and looked over to where the King was sitting on his throne.
“Yep, that’s my cue,” Duke sighed before heading over.
The palace was set with a huge table and decorated with a feast fit for a King.

The home where I grew up wasn’t in any way like how it is today. Of course the same rules and procedures were applied, but they were also enforced in a much different way. We all lived happily, but in the same way, safely. In today’s time, it seems impossible to live a life that is both safe and free. Most of us only live a free life. Safety is no longer a concern.
